If I wanted to write the perfect essay, then these are the five things that I would focus on. 

You can think of them as five locations that readers use to interpret and understand your text—the structural locations readers expect to find the answers to certain questions. 

These reader expectations are unconscious. But if you can anticipate consciously what your readers expect intuitively, then you make your essay much easier to read.
